Establishes and enforces ethical standards to ensure artificial intelligence systems are fair, transparent, and responsible in their development and deployment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement ethical guidelines and standards for AI development and deployment
  • Identify and manage potential risks associated with AI projects and play a crucial role in system design phases
  • Collaborate with legal, research, engineering, and executive stakeholders to ensure ethical compliance
  • Monitor AI technologies for ethical compliance and provide ongoing guidance throughout development cycles
  • Stay up-to-date with research and developments in AI ethics, algorithmic fairness, and transparency
  • Present findings and recommendations to company leadership and contribute to academic publications
  • Review and analyze research materials, patents, and technical documentation for ethical implications

Skills & Tools:

  • Deep knowledge of ethical theories and principles (especially as related to AI)
  • Experience with AI/ML implementation and deployment processes
  • Research experience in algorithmic fairness, accountability, transparency, and explainability
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to identify ethical issues
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams (engineering, legal, product, compliance)
  • Academic background in philosophy, ethics, or related field (Master's or PhD preferred)
  • Experience with active inference, free energy principle, or distributed ML (preferred)
  • Familiarity with privacy, auditability, explainability, and bias mitigation in AI
