Carbon Management Specialist
Implements carbon dioxide removal (CDR) strategies and policies to help organizations and governments scale up climate solutions like direct air capture, enhanced rock weathering, and biological carbon removal
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate across expert teams exploring various carbon dioxide removal technologies including direct air capture, enhanced rock weathering, and biological removals
- Engage with environmental organizations, environmental justice groups, and community stakeholders on responsible CDR implementation
- Investigate technical aspects of CDR pathways including removal capacity, durability, and scalability to inform policy advocacy
- Track carbon capture technology advances and identify opportunities for federal research, development, and deployment programs
- Create materials and conduct outreach to policymakers on the need for large-scale, responsible carbon dioxide removal
- Draft comments on CDR legislation and analyze public and private investments in carbon removal technologies
- Contribute technical expertise to legal and policy teams designing framework legislation for long-term CDR requirements
