Energy Manager
Oversees the procurement and strategic implementation of carbon-free energy solutions, engineered carbon removal technologies, and nature-based carbon credits to achieve corporate net-zero objectives
Key Responsibilities:
- Structure, negotiate, and execute cost-competitive carbon reduction and removal offtake agreements for carbon credits
- Create commercial frameworks for grid decarbonization projects involving transmission, nuclear, geothermal, and utility-scale storage
- Collaborate with net zero, sustainability, legal, policy, finance, and communications teams to implement comprehensive carbon solutions
- Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, utilities, and stakeholders in the carbon and energy markets
- Support evolution and execution of corporate carbon supply strategy for domestic and international operating footprints
- Monitor technical, market, and regulatory developments in decarbonized electricity and carbon industries
- Lead energy projects including technology assessment, due diligence, and commercial negotiations for emerging technologies
Skills & Tools:
- Energy and carbon market navigation experience (12+ years)
- Commercial negotiation and definitive agreement structuring
- Utility-scale renewable energy project development (wind, solar, storage)
- Carbon removal and environmental attribute market knowledge
- Stakeholder engagement with utilities, governments, and regulatory agencies
- Project management across multiple simultaneous initiatives
- Financial modeling and risk assessment for energy projects
- Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace proficiency
- Understanding of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions accounting
- Grid decarbonization and advanced energy technology familiarity
