Technical Program Manager for Carbon Removal
Leads the evaluation, strategy, and implementation of emerging carbon dioxide removal technologies to help major corporations achieve net-zero climate commitments
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and update corporate perspective on carbon removal technology pathways including direct air capture, biomass storage, and enhanced rock weathering
- Provide technical input on individual carbon removal projects during purchase diligence and procurement processes
- Track technology pathway progress toward commercial certainty and scale through research projects and technical analysis
- Enable cross-functional teams to make informed decisions based on carbon removal technology assessments
- Identify and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive climate impact and achieve mutual sustainability goals
- Lead complex, multi-disciplinary carbon removal programs from concept through implementation
- Communicate technical analyses and recommendations to executives while discussing tradeoffs with engineering teams
Skills & Tools:
- Carbon removal technology expertise (direct air capture, biomass storage, enhanced rock weathering, nature-based solutions)
- Program management experience (5+ years) with technical project leadership
- Understanding of carbon credit types and verification methodologies
- Non-CO2 gas destruction and alkalinity-based pathway knowledge
- Technical background in environmental or carbon-related disciplines
- Ability to navigate ambiguous and emerging technology landscapes
- Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
- Risk identification and project schedule management
- Executive communication and technical documentation skills
